Early Afternoon
He wasn’t ready for summer to end. Though one could debate if the first half of his summer even counted as a summer. As he spent the first half fetching bandages and potions for healers at the hospital his mother worked at as more a job than a time off to just enjoy. Though as many had pointed out to him he needed to grow up as adults didn’t get summer off and he was approaching that. Little did he realize at the beginning of summer that the experience of helping in a Hospital as multiple skirmishes in the Irish War for independence hit the street of Belfast had made him grow up.
Though he wasn’t too grown up to just decide to let loose and go for a swim. Yes, it was the lake at Hogwarts. Yes, while he’d taken his shirt off he made sure to have a very good wand holder on the lower part of his non-wand arm with his wand firmly attached. Yes, he remembered his towel which had his things on top of it on the grass near the lake.
He was more than ready to blast any creatures that decided to join him on his swim as he ran into the water. A series of loud splashes as he purposefully made a lot of noise entering the lake to scare any creatures away. As the reality was he wasn’t even sure what he’d aim at them.
This would have been better if he actually planned this outing more than ensuring he had swim trunks on. Though even the swim trunks were unplanned. As the fact was that when he got dressed this morning he put swim trunks on under his pants purely due to the fact all his boxers were in the Hogwarts laundry - as he dumped most of his clothes in the Hogwarts laundry instead of doing it at home prior.
Thankfully, for him it looked like things would work out as he saw someone walking towards the lake. With a shout he said “ You better come get in when the water’s good. Scotland gets cold way too fast. “
Though as he said that he wondered why as wizards that was a problem. Couldn’t they just make the water warmer?
