Potions Class
Description
The Potions classroom is located in the castle dungeons in a wide, stone-vaulted room with arched ceilings and a cold flagstone floor. It’s lit with warm lamps that soften the harshness of the dungeon, but the temperature stays cool year-round. The air usually smells like smoke, damp stone, and whatever ingredients were used in the last lesson.
Shelving runs along the walls and is packed with bottles and jars of stored ingredients. Most are labeled, some clearly and some so faded you can barely read them. Larger glass containers are kept closer to the floor and in corners, and everything is arranged for function rather than decoration.
The room feels like a workspace first, not a showcase.
In the center are long wooden worktables set up for brewing, with tools kept within reach: scales, mortars, knives, stirrers, and stacks of reference books. Multiple cauldrons sit on stands above steady flames, sending up light steam during class. It’s a practical room built for instruction, organized, well-stocked, and strict on safety.
