Hogwarts Information
This thread is meant to explain what you can expect throughout term, both in character and out of character.
In regards to the plot...
We do have a very large plot that will be kicking off at some point this term, and we will be posting updates so that your in-character plots and threads can reflect what is happening around the castle.
Duelling and Quidditch, unfortunately, have been cancelled for this term. This is a direct response to all of the damage the previous Headmaster inflicted upon the castle. These activities are not safe, and we hope to resume them next term.
As of this term, students may now officially sign up to help out in the Hospital Wing. Slytherin Ruth Elliot is helping lead the volunteers for the head nurse. More information can be found HERE.
We have the Spellcasters Society, led by Professor Maddox Barlowe. More information can be found HERE.
There is also the Library Assistants program, run by Professor Julia Laurence. More information can be found HERE.
In regards to classes...
This term, we have four classes that are being offered in which you can post your students:
You may attend any of the lessons in these subjects without signing up. Each lesson is worth 20 points, and you may achieve a total of 60 points for each class by the end of the term.
We have other classes being taught (IC), but not roleplayed. Please see the class schedule HERE for the full list.
To pass a class you must receive at least 20 points by the end of the term in that subject.
To recognize the students who go above and beyond, we have established an Honour Roll system. To be eligible for the Honour Roll, you must:
In regards to prefect selections...
At the end of each term, Admin will look at the list of active students from that term to determine who might be eligible. Guidelines include:

- Be a fourth year or higher
- Be in good disciplinary standing, holding no infractions within the last term.
- Introduce themselves in their house OOC threads.
- Co-host one event/open thread castle-wide.
- Provide evidence of engagement with the school community. The following are acceptable and any two will do:
- Two complete personal threads (cannot interact with the same character twice).
- An open IC patrol of your prefect wandering the castle.
- A complete thread within your common room.
- A complete thread offering assistance to a professor.
- A complete thread at the start of term feast welcoming new and returning students in some capacity.
- Two complete personal threads (cannot interact with the same character twice).
In regards to head student selections...
At the end of each term, Admin will look at the list of prefects for the previous term, and use the following to determine who might qualify:
- Pass at least two classes the previous term
- Be a seventh year
- Be in good disciplinary standing, holding no infractions within the last term.
- Introduce themselves in the General OOC forum.
- Lead the prefect team in hosting one themed school event for the term.
- Provide evidence of engagement with the school community. The following are acceptable and any two will do:
- Two complete personal threads (cannot interact with the same character twice).
- An open IC patrol of your prefect wandering the castle.
- A complete thread within your common room.
- A complete thread offering assistance to a professor.
- A complete thread at the start of term feast welcoming new and returning students in some capacity.
- Two complete personal threads (cannot interact with the same character twice).
