The Creatures
The following is a list of all the creatures currently housed in the paddocks. Students are allowed to visit and even care for these creatures, provided they have the necessary clearance. All creatures must be treated with care and respect at all times or you risk losing access to visit.
All students: Creatures here are non-lethal, relatively docile, or can be safely handled with guidance.
- Bowtruckle (rehabilitation before relocation)
- Diricawl
- Doxies (rehabilitation before relocation)
- Fairies (rehabilitation before relocation)
- Flobberworms
- Jobberknoll
- Mooncalf (observation only)
- Porlock
- Puffskein
Third Years and above: Creatures here may bite, sting, or spook — they’re safe with training but too risky for younger students.
- Augurey
- Clabbert
- Hippogriff
- Kneazle
- Murtlap
- Streeler
- Thestral
- Winged Horse (Aethonan, Granian)
Fifth Years and Above: Creatures here can cause harm without proper handling — exposure is limited to more mature students.
- Jarvey
- Unicorn (typically foals awaiting relocation or in need of added care)
- Matagot
- Grindylow (in special tanks for rehabilitation before relocation)
Seventh Years or with Professor-Granted Special Leave: Creatures only introduced to the most advanced, trustworthy students or studied in observation rather than direct handling.
- Blast-Ended Skrewt
- Occamy (only those in rehabilitation before relocation)
- Phoenix (not strictly a resident but visits on occasion. Might encounter if lucky)
- Runespoor (observation only; creature only present when one is in need of rehabilitation)
- Swooping Evil (avoid handling without trust gained)
* Note: This list is for reference purposes so you can have an idea of what your character is allowed to interact with. So long as they meet the criteria, it is assumed they have access to and may help in the care of the creatures listed. You do not need to request permission. However, please also note that Maddox does NOT allow students to collect potion ingredients from the creatures without his permission and supervision (you must make a request for this). He also does not allow joy rides. Students can and will be punished for removing creatures from the paddocks without first gaining approval with very good reaason.
