Personality & House Preference

Personality:
Timothy is kind of a madcap – he’s the kind of kid who climbs high places or runs in the middle of traffic just because a friend said he wouldn’t dare do that. He loves quidditch and dreams of being a professional one day. Another big part of Timothy’s personality is his sense of humor; he jokes a lot and isn’t afraid to laugh at himself, either – but he can sometimes put himself in bad positions, considering that laughing in certain situations is not seen as suitable. He tries his best, though.

History:
Timothy comes from a family of four.

Timothy was born on a cold, January morning, around 5 am. He was a healthy baby, but his mother’s condition was serious. Alice was able to recover from the complications she had, though, and was sent home a while after her newborn son.

The first couple years went smoothly and Timothy was an easy kid to look after. Little did the parents know that things would change when Timothy turned 4 – while he was doing some of the usual kid-things, such as drawing car-tracks onto the floor and cutting hair off of his teddy bear, some strange things started happening around him too: things went suddenly missing, just to be found in places Timothy couldn’t reach out to, but neither of the parents would admit having to put things there. The shirts Timothy didn’t like so much seemed to be getting too small for him, which caused confusion among the parents, because Timothy himself didn’t seem to get taller or gain weight. While all these examples were not dangerous, there was an incident that could have turned into a catastrophe: One day, Timothy was throwing a tantrum for not wanting a toast for breakfast… and the toaster spontaneously caught on fire! The family figured out there must have been crisp bread crumbs inside the toaster – they didn’t know how those would have ended up in there, though.

What comes to school, Timothy has always been a good student. He was ambitious and wanted to be better than the others. He especially wanted to beat his best friend, Alan. They were both strong students and they would both benefit from their little competitions.

When Timothy’s little brother, Tony, was born, Timothy would often sit by his crib and read aloud. Obviously, Tony didn’t understand anything about biology or whatever it was Timothy was reading to him… but Timothy liked doing it, anyway. He liked spending time with his little brother and was already waiting for him to grow up so the two of them could play pretend together. They could be pirates or they could hunt sea monsters together! They could be anything!

When Timothy then got the Hogwarts Acceptation Letter, the whole family thought someone was playing tricks on them. The person who delivered the letter seemed rather… strange, too. He was convincing, though, and at the end of the day, everything started making sense. The odd happenings in the past did, too, make sense.

When Timothy entered Hogwarts for the first time, everything was so big and so remarkable. Everything seemed to be against his understanding, too — there were ghosts flying through the walls and the paintings could try and have a conversation with you, too. Timothy had also heard that there were house elves in the castle, that they would do the dirty job in there… they would cook their meals, wash their laundry, do pretty much everything. Timothy had never seen an elf, though, so he wasn’t sure if it was just a rumor.

School was fine, too. Timothy got good grades, as usual, and he still wanted to be the best of his class. Some of the students found it annoying, but Timothy didn’t really care. It was who he was and he wouldn’t change because of other people.

Roleplay Response

Prompt 1:

Prompt 2:
Timothy was sitting by the long table, stuffing food into his mouth. He ate like he’d never get access to food after he’d finished eating – he took a bite on a skewer, drank some pumpkin juice on top of that and then took another bite on the skewer. Timothy loved the food that was served in Hogwarts. There was a time he thought his mother made the best food one could ever taste, but after he came to Hogwarts, he’d had to admit it was house elves who did. He would never tell that to his mother, though, as he figured his mother wouldn’t appreciate him comparing her to a “creature” as she would call an elf.

Timothy turned to look at the doors as he heard a student run into the Great Hall. He didn’t understand people who were late for lunch. Timothy’s stomach made sure Timothy headed to the Great Hall in time. Nobody would listen to that grumble, after all.. Anyway, it seemed like the girl was – very – baffled about something. Timothy, unlike most other boys he knew, has always been curious for rumors, so he immediately put away his cutlery and directed all his focus on this girl and her friends. The girl started by telling the others about Peter and Sarah – an on and off couple pretty much everyone knew about, Timothy included – and then she announced she’d seen Peter and Naomi snugging. That was like a punch against Timothy’s face. He’d been crushing on Naomi since the previous school term.

“No!” Timothy sighed, not knowing – or caring – if the girls would hear him. But he could hear them consider getting back to where it all happened, to see the aftermath. For a moment, Timothy thought about following them. Maybe the girl was mistaken? Maybe it was Naomi? But then again, who would make a mistake like that?

Instead of standing up and leaving with the girls, Timothy picked up another skewer and took a bite on it.
