Catherine is absolute chaos, I swear. The sarcasm this girl wields should be registered as a weapon—she’ll whisper something under her breath, and you’ll be left wondering if you just got roasted or not. She’s a master of quiet rebellion—those nerdy glasses are basically armor, and the book clutched under her arm? Trust me, she’s way more interested in fighting dragons and rooting for fictional underdogs than smiling at Dad’s business friends.
Honestly, half the time she isn’t even totally… present? Her body’s there, but her brain’s off writing some epic tale or inventing a world where the jerks don’t win. Can’t even blame her, really. She’s this ancient soul trapped in a teenager’s body—like, hand her knitting needles and a petition to sign and she’ll be happy. You need something? Or you’re in trouble—or, like, your pet’s foot falls off? Catherine’s already pulling out snacks and tissues and probably organizing a rebellion to fix it. Compassion is just coded into who she is, not even optional at this point. Girl can’t help herself, always fighting for the little guy, even if it means she’s got to wade hip-deep into drama she shouldn’t touch with a ten-foot pole.
But she’s soft as hell on the inside. Completely allergic to mean people. If someone side-eyes her, she’ll replay it like a weird emotional remix for a week straight. Guilt chews her up on the inside; she can’t stand to make anyone sad—decisions give her full-body hives. Say something with a quiver in your voice, and she’s already halfway to believing you, even if you’re full of it. It’s almost child's play to fool her, honestly. When real life gets to be too much, poof—she’s outta there. Books, daydreams, doodling squirrels in the margins—she’ll crawl into any escape hatch available.
Those notebook pages? Pretty sure there are more little goblins and shooting stars scribbled there than actual class notes. She’ll write sappy poems about impossible things and look up at the clouds for “inspiration.” Plunk her down in the grass at Hogwarts, and she’ll look at peace for once. Nature’s her happy place—she’s got this weird, almost magical connection to the outside world. And as much as she needs her quiet, she totally needs her crew too. But if there’s a fight or someone starts spewing nastiness? She’ll get stomachaches for days. That’s our girl. Catherine Holloway: a charming disaster, but honestly, the world’s better with her in it.
When she get older she will become demisexual and demiromantic. She also will be bisexual and polyamorous.
History:
Background:
The Holloways are a nouveau riche pureblood family. The Cavendish family also are nouveau riche. They wanted to promote goodwill amongst the two families and decided to have their two oldest marry each other in an arranged marriage. While it was arranged, Tiberius and Mary, put effort into their marriage. They went on dates and truly learned about each other. It took a while before they fell in love but in the 25 years that they have been married they fell in love. Deeper than some hope for.
They agreed that when they had children, no matter what the gender the firstborn child was, they would share the inheritance equally. Tiberius and Mary also agreed that they both could work. Tiberius supported his wife in all her endeavors, which for the traditional purists was definitely against polite society rules. Both of the families supported their heirs in their own endeavors.
Tiberius went to St. Mungo’s to study to become a mediwizard (similar to a normal trauma surgeon). Mary opened her own business after getting her barista (lawyer) license and became a fixer (like the tv show Scandal) in the wizarding world, Holloway and Associates. The firm handles scandals that the major players in the UK need to keep from getting out into the hands of the Daily Prophet. In 1909, they finally had their twins, Carter and Catherine, on the Spring Equinox. The twins could not be more polar opposites of each other. Carter would be considered the Gryffindor of the pair. While Catherine is the Ravenclaw of the family. She is a combination of a creative eccentric and a bookish wallflower. To be fair, she likes it that way. Mary was a Hufflepuff in Hogwarts and Tiberius was a Slytherin in Hogwarts.
Cate’s History:
She had a relatively balanced childhood. While yes her parents were nouveau riche and wanted to expand their social connections, they also wanted to give their children a sense of normality, play, and discipline. Cate stuck inside with her books, journaling, and drawing. She loved being in other worlds not her own and writing short stories had been fun for her. Now she knows that she wants to be a writer when she gets older. Her parents are supportive though they are concerned that her future spouse would not be as supportive of her dreams. They did suggest that she could become a journalist.
Cate loves her parents and brother but she knows she is different than them. Where as her mother learned loyalty in Hufflepuff, her father, even though he was sorted into Slytherin House, was not overly ambitious or cunning and yet he learned to make alliances in Slytherin House. If her brother did not get sorted into Gryffindor, she’d start playing outside, which was not something she wanted to do.

It was a humid and rainy morning when Catherine awoke to the sound of tapping on the window. An owl was tapping its beak, wanting to be let in from the rain. Thankfully, she kept extra towels in her room just in case owls needed them.
Speaking softly so as not to startle the bird, Catherine offered, "Here I have a towel to dry your feathers. Some food and water for you." The owl hooted its appreciation and got under the towel to dry off as Catherine opened the letter from Hogwarts.
"I wonder if Carter got his," she mused to herself. It was finally time to go to Hogwarts and learn magic. She gave the owl some money for the trip, and it took off.
"Cate, it's time—" Her mother, Mary, knocked on the door, but seeing that her daughter was already up, she paused. "You got your letter too! Then it's a trip to Diagon Alley for your school supplies this weekend. Breakfast is on the table, love."
"Alright, Mum, I will be right down as soon as I get properly dressed," she answered politely. Mary nodded and walked back down the stairs after closing the door to Catherine's room. Catherine got dressed in a nice blouse and pleated skirt, though she would have preferred wearing pants so she could sit with her legs crossed comfortably.
She left her bedroom to go and eat with her family and was almost knocked over by her brother, who was too energetic for the morning. She quickly went up against the wall and got out of the way in time.
"Would you slow down?" Catherine said with frustration.
"Sorry, sis," Carter shouted as he ran down the stairs. He almost ran into their father, as Tiberius had paused at the bottom of the stairs and turned to see his son barreling towards him.
"Stop running before you hurt yourself or others," Tiberius ordered. "Go back upstairs and walk back down calmly."
