Head Boy & Head Girl

Overview

A Head Boy or Head Girl are seventh year students who have been selected from the available list of the previous term's Prefects. These students are selected solely by the Headmaster or Headmistress of Hogwarts, and serve as the highest form of leadership over the student body. These students are typically chosen based on their academic achievements, citizenship, reputation, extra-curricular participation, and demonstrated responsible behavior.

These two students are expected to serve as an example to the rest of the student body, and are often entrusted with duties to include instructing Prefects on their patrol and activity schedules, running various clubs, maintaining order within the corridors and various student areas, and doling out light discipline when needed.

Often, Head Boys and Head Girls are recognized by the wider wizarding community, and are offered internships and scholarships based on their achievements.
