Student Application Information

All students who are at least 11 years old but no older than 17 years old by September 1st of each school year are eligible to attend Hogwarts. In order for them to be enrolled, you must first fill out a student application form. Not only will this help us and others to gain a better understanding of your character, but it will also provide us admins with valuable insights that will help us decide where to sort them.

Here are a few things to keep in mind as you look to begin your magical journey:

• All site rules apply when creating your character. While there is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to characters, and we welcome a variety of personalities to add spice to the roleplay, this must still be done within the guidelines provided. Not sure whether something you've written into the application is against the rules? Reach out to one of our admins, and we'll be happy to help clarify!
  
  
• The admins have final say on a student's sorting; however, if there is a house you feel strongly against for your character, please let us know in the application. (We're not trying to make anyone have a bad time!)
  
  
• The admins have the final say on the characters that are accepted. This is not meant to deter any from applying, but to be a gentle reminder that we reserve the right to refuse a character that we deem to be in breach of any of the site's rules or canon. We don't make a habit of rejecting characters unless they are absolutely incapable of being able to fit into the site's established canon. For that reason, our team is more than happy to work with you to better tailor your character should their application hit a snag.
  
  
• We endeavour to get students sorted in a timely manner; however, in some cases, due to the content of the application or the requirement for further clarification, applications may take a bit of extra time to be approved. Even then, we try to get through them as quickly as possible.
  
  
• Even after an application has been submitted, the result of your sorting will not be announced until the opening feast at the start of the term. You can be as surprised as your character! This is only applicable to first-year students and only if they join during the IC summer. All other years (as well as First Years who join during the term) will be immediately sorted and badged once the app has been approved.
