Effective January 1, 1921, all wizarding citizens are henceforth required to
register their wands with the Ministry of Magic.

Due to the Irish uprisings, the Minister has signed into law - without the consideration of The Wizengamot - a bill that will require all wizards and witches without exception to register their wands.

This law will enable the Department of Magical Law Enforcement the ability to monitor all wand usage at all times. Aurors will be able to identify any wands in public that have not been legally registered. Any witch or wizard found to be knowingly carrying an unregistered wand will face prosecution that may result in prison time.
