Everleigh is described by many as a sweet child with a determined spirit. You would be hard pressed to change her mind once she had an idea. Passionate about helping people that are less fortunate, even when it goes against the beliefs of her family and friends. Everleigh is protective and loyal to those close to her. Get on her good side and she will go to war for you.
History:
Born on a cold, snowy day at home, as they did in those days. Everleigh came out screaming, making sure everyone knew she was there and ready to make her point known. As a child, she was sweet and happy, when she got her way. She didn’t throw tantrums or scream and yell, but instead internalized her hate and stewed for days. Look up the definition of resting bitch face and a beautiful young girl from Lancashire would be pictured.
Everleigh Faye Ravenstone was given a strong name from the beginning, as if her parents knew she was destined for greatness from her first breath. She played well with her sister Alice, hopscotch outside, coloring and reading when the weather kept them indoors. The typical little girl in the early 1900 pureblood family, followed the design of seen and not heard. Be the ornament by your parents' side, bring the pretty smiles, long hair and ruffly dress, but above all else, don’t speak your mind. No. The men of the world didn’t like free thinkers and women who went against social norms. From a young age, it was clear Everleigh had a mind of her own.
Dresses and skirts? No thank you. Sitting in the garden quietly reading? Why, when you could be playing stick ball with the boys or hide and seek loudly yelling and giggling. She was most definitely seen AND heard, she made sure of it.
As Everleigh got older, it was clear she didn’t believe that women were lesser. Watching her mother speak up, only to be shut down or laughed at. Watching the way women were looked at and objectified for their appearance, but never listened to for their thoughts made her internally rage. She wanted to do more with her life then go to charity functions, tea with the ladies or social engagements. It was made very clear from a young age that the women in her family were supposed to marry well, to a Pureblood of course, pop out a bunch of kids, make the family look good and be the pretty face, not the loud voice.
As a young witch in the pureblood community, she was biding her time. Intelligent, observant, and seething with a quiet determination, Everleigh watched what those around did and the things they said. She smiled when it was appropriate, curtsied when deemed necessary, and took detailed mental notes on how the Patriarchy was ruining the lives of women. One day, in the near future, she would stop keeping her mouth shut.
Everleigh is an avid reader, always with a book close by. Not one for inane chatter, she would typically be found with her nose in a book or sitting on the fringe watching and waiting. She wasn’t mean, per se, but she didn’t mince words when she was passionate about a topic. “Little Woman,” by Louisa May Alcott was her favorite book, which should surprise no one. A story about the lives of 4 young sisters, how they grew into womanhood and made their own way in society. Specifically Jo, who sought to pave her own path in a world of men. Her copy of ‘Little Woman’ was well loved, dog eared with the cover curling at the edges.
Magic was in her life from the moment she opened her eyes. It was never a secret, it just was. When she learned at a young age that there were others out in the world, muggles (silly word), that didn’t have the advantages of magic, she didn’t see them as below her. They were just another part of the world that made it a colorful and interesting place. Muggles were never seen as lesser or lower than, in fact Everleigh was enthralled by their ingenuity and determination. Not lazy in the slightest, having to do everything manually instead of with a spell and flick of their wand. Why others thought of them as stupid or below she would never understand.
As Everleigh entered Hogwarts, she was excited to start her educational journey into the magical world. Being near Alice was another benefit. She loved her sister fiercely. Being the younger sibling, most would assume that Alice was the strong protective sibling, but truly, it was Everleigh that would stand up to bullies for her sisters. Her first year was smooth sailing, making friends and learning the ropes, but on the eve of her second year, she was excited to make a name for herself.

The clock was ticking and SHOCKING, Elodie was late again. This was nothing new, in fact, the times that she WASN'T late were the rarity. Sitting around the table, Everleigh was snacking on her lunch when she heard the familiar voice yell sorry to an unsuspecting Hufflepuff that just got hit by a 50 pound girl with wild eyes and bouncy curls.
“OH MY GOD YOU GUYS, you will NEVER guess what just happened!”
Everleigh chuckled, "That is such a loaded question El, but I'm guessing it's gossip related." Ever took another bite of her apple waiting for her friend to drop the latest news.
. “Ok, like… Ok. So! You know Peter and Sarah have been on again off again? I mean EVERYONE knows that, but yeah. Well it seems that PETER thought they were off again, but SARAH thought they were on.”
Annnnnd Gossip was correct. "I swear, they can't make up their minds at all." She continued to listen, eyes getting wider as the bomb dropped. Everleigh wasn't into the drama like Elodie, but this had been a series of events that EVERYONE had been watching. So yes, she was invested.
"Ok, lets go, but don't forget your stuff or we will be late for class." Everleigh grabbed her bag and helped El toss everything that had fallen out of hers. Then she grabbed an apple and a muffin, "Here, eat something on the way! Should we take bets on who needs the hospital wing when this is all over? My guess is Peter with a black eye." She said as the gir.s jogged down the corridor.
