Overview[edit | edit source]

Lavinia was born to be bubbly and fun. As the baby of the Blackwood clan, she is used to having a lot of eyes on her, watching her every move. Because of this, she didn’t have to worry about anything bad befalling her, as every single one of her big brothers would be there to prevent whatever disaster awaited. This fact has made her a bit carefree, and very light in regards to life. Probably a bit naive, too, because nothing bad ever happened to her. Despite that, she did know how to take care of herself; working in the environment she worked in, most of the patrons knew not to mess with her, but there was the occasional one who would try to get handsy and she would respond by punching him in the face.

History[edit | edit source]

Lavinia came into the world unexpectedly, mostly because the Blackwood line had only seen the birth of boys for the past one-hundred-plus years. She grew up knowing that is what made her special, and she let everyone know it too. Vini soaked up the attention and loved that her brothers were protective over her (though she bickered with them about it all the time). She happily let her mum purchase all the fanciest gowns for her even as a child.

Entering Hogwarts, Vini was sorted into Hufflepuff to no one’s surprise. The girl had always been very bubbly and friendly and was instantly well-liked. The attention was more than she was used to, but it was also very easy for her to grow accustomed to it.

And then, at her fifteenth birthday celebration, her mum and dad announced that they had betrothed her to the son of a rich, Pureblood financier. Vini had seen the boy at various functions in the past, and knew his name, however she had no interest in him. She pouted to her parents that she didn’t want to marry him, and when they didn’t rescind the betrothal, she was angry. For the first time, her parents didn’t bend to her will and the girl wished she hadn’t been born a Blackwood.

However, the wedding would never come. Harry graduated a year before Vini, and was immediately drafted to fight in the war. She’d come to terms with the fact that she would be marrying out of obligation and not love, so she was no longer cold to him because he told her he wasn’t happy with the arrangement either.

A common ground is what the pair found, and while he was away he wrote to her often. Vini didn’t look forward to his letters, however she did expect them. Until one day, they just stopped.

Knowing that Harry would just stop writing, Vini knew within a few days that he had died. Her parents were distraught that their arrangement had fallen through and looked at the girl like she was strange for not mourning her future husband.

While her brothers went to war, all except for Archer who dodged the draft with a bum ear, Lavinia began working in the family’s gentlemen’s clothing shop. She had a way with their customers, especially those who frequented the bar in the back of the shop.

And that is where she finds herself today; still single, unbetrothed, and spending the majority of her time serving drinks to men of stature.
